Although the estimator was way low in his quote, which caused a little bit of suspicion, the overall experience that we had with Atlas Van lines was excellent. The drivers went above and beyond to help us. Not a single item of furniture and belongings was scratched or lost or broken. However the final bill was about 20% higher than the quote. Perhaps the sales person quoted low just to get our business. Beware.
Absolute worst moving company ever! They put our vehicle inside the semi truck, which we found out is illegal! Then they packed everything in and around our vehicle that damaged the vehicle and our stuff. DESTROYED my wedding arch!!! They were 5 hours late picking our stuff up. We had to leave all of our stuff outside for them to pack because we had to be on the road. Then when they arrived, it took them 8 hours to unload into our storage unit!!! When we moved into our place, a different moving company took 3.5 hours to load from the storage unit to the truck and truck to our new place. 8 hours is ridiculous!!! They wouldn't let us open any boxes to make sure our stuff was ok. Only if the box was damaged. I wish I could give them zero stars!!! I suggest if Atlas dispatches Slater to move your stuff, ask for someone else!!! Atlas is a great company. I don't know why they go through this guy at all!!!
We hired this company to move us from St George, UT to central Pennsylvania. Although our load weighed 1200 lbs under their estimate, the charge was only $38. less. We were never provided weight tickets or an itemized bill. We were directed to pay more than $7500 before the crew would unload our belongings. I sent an email detailing our concerns to Atlas and, true to form, never received a response.
