If you were to describe the dream move you hope to have when the time comes, it would probably match our experience with Bookstore Movers. From the beginning, as I communicated with the staff, and then all through the move, they were friendly, knowledgeable, quick yet careful, and seemed to enjoy their work. I just remembered it was a rainy, muddy day. Forgot about that! Guess their sunny attitudes made it seem otherwise. BTW, they brought (clean) materials to walk on throughout the indoor area, to avoid leaving any mud or wetness behind.

Movers showed up on time but were not respectful of my things and rushed. When I gave them direction such as not rolling a marble table as it would chip, they were dismissive. Likewise when I asked that multiple people carry a table to not damage it and my walls. For some items I offered to assist in carrying as I felt two people needed to carry the item vs one. They declined and said they wound get one of the other two movers to help, then at times proceeded to move the item alone when I was out of view. The most egregious was with my tv, a mover picked up a 65 inch tv from the center lifting it overhead, cracking the frame and ruining the tv. It was aggressively dumb. To make it worse they put the tv in my basement, stacked boxes in front of it and told me they were done before I signed and they left. Immediately after I noticed and reached out the movers, who admitted to breaking the tv and put me in touch with unhelpful operations. Entire experience has left me annoyed and without a tv that was approximately twice as much as the move. FYI they do not cover TVs not in original packaging even if one of their movers hulks it overhead and cracks it. Negative Professionalism

It's been years since I booked a moving service from Bookstore Movers for a 1b apartment. TL;DR: They did a fair and efficient job, but the workers were very rude and impatient. Won't recommend. I had only a couple of (~15) medium boxes, and was shouted at by a worker when I initially told them I have 12, and found a few left. He shouted "Hey listen, we can't do it if you keep having more boxes" (What??) And after they moved all boxes onto the truck, I was still moving some packed garbage (in boxes). They rudely refused to give me a helping hand, and would rather just watch. Finally when the dropped all the stuff at my new apartment, I asked whether they could help unpack my giant mattress and again got refused. To be fair, they did the job very efficiently. But I would avoid at all cost to have such an uncomfortable service while paying over 500 bucks for a 1b, 3mi move in 2020.
